Dumaguete Writers Workshop 2007
National Artist for Literature Edith L. Tiempo has announced that applications for fellowships to the National Writers Workshop in Dumaguete City will be accepted until March 31, 2007. The workshop will be held from May 7 to May 25, 2007.
Fellowships are available in the following categories: poetry, short story, and creative non-fiction. Applicants must submit a minimum of 8 poems or 2 or 3 stories or personal essays for the respective genres. All works must be in English. Applicants must submit hard and soft copies of their work.
Additional requirements are: letter of application, curriculum vitae, color photos (2 copies), and at least one reference letter from a literature or creative writing professor or a nationally recognized writer.
Accepted applicants can expect the following expenses to be covered: board and lodging for 3 weeks, a modest stipend, and partial reimbursement of transportation costs to and from Dumaguete.
