Real Beauty

Never before have people been preoccupied with enhancements that can be done with their bodies and faces than today. Beauty is no longer in the eye of the beholder, but in the skilled hands of the plastic or cosmetic surgeon.

A short anecdote goes like this:

Two women are conversing at a gathering. Their dialogue goes this way:

Woman 1: “Are those real?” (pointing to Woman 2’s body parts. Go ahead, choose your body parts.)

Woman 2: “Of course they’re real. In fact, I paid for them myself.”

So what’s real beauty and what isn’t? Must real beauty be expensive? I remember an old Ivory Soap ad before where a husband gushes about his make-up less wife: “Misis ko… simple lang pero ang ganda.) (That’s my wife. She’s simple but she looks so beautiful.)

Well, real beauty has become more complicated these days. Hard to discover which is “real” and which is “enhanced.” To each her own. Anyway, if you are set on improving the way you look the medical way, you are not alone. You can choose from a whole list of Cosmetic Surgeons. They even classify the medical practitioners by state! That’s how in demand cosmetic surgery is. Where there is cosmetic surgery, beauty is within reach. For as long as you are willing to pay the price.
