Robert’s Rules of Writing
I got hold of the book Robert’s Rules of Writing: 101 Unconventional Lessons Every Writer Needs to Know. It’s by Robert Masello, a journalist, television writer, and author of about 15 books. In his book, Robert Masello talks about his insights on being a writer, based on his actual experience, with the aim of helping aspiring writers get their work published.
I got a copy of the book at Powerbooks in SM Megamall (Philippines). I read it one morning and although some of his rules are interesting (e.g. Rule Number 1 — Burn your journal), I found myself just skimming through the book towards the latter part as I felt they applied more to people who wrote stories or novels, probably.
Still, it can be a “different read” and anyone interested in writing, may pick up a thing or two from it. Happy reading!
