Study Tips to Remember (Part 2)

(continued from yesterday)

4. In Math, show each step. – My son is fond of short cuts. I know he likes Math because he is good at it and it’s the subject that we probably spend the least time on. (Lucky me!) But then, his Math brain sometimes goes fast that he has an answer without a complete solution. I repeatedly tell him that he should show the solution, step by step. It will allow teacher (and the parent) to understand what the student is doing better and will give them a better sense that the student did do the assignment himself. Showing the complete solution demonstrates knowledge and mastery.

5. Read more than needed. – Do not confine yourself to your textbooks and readings which have been assigned. Do more than required or necessary. Research on the internet. Read other books on the same topic. Go visit the library. Reading more than what is assigned will ensure that you will always be a step ahead of your classmates and will enhance whatever it is that you have learned from school.

Happy studying!
