Picture a boy in the air with what appears like a parachute. With one hand, he holds a cap. In the other, he holds a flag. Write a story.
If you think you have what it takes to craft a children’s story by just looking at a single drawing, you may want to join the Romeo Forbes Children’s Storywriting Competition.
The contest is sponsored by Canvas, a non-stock, not-for-profit organization that aims to promote awareness and appreciation of Philippine art, culture, and environment. The contest is named after the artist and illustrator of the story, Elias and His Trees.
Deadline for the contest is 5pm, May 16, 2006. Maximum length of the children’s story is 2,000 words. All Filipinos may join. Entries are to be sent by e-mail.
